Remember a couple of weeks ago when I featured a photo of an acorn that had split its shell and put out roots and a small stem? Well this is what it looks like as of yesterday. Things move pretty fast, it’s about 15 cm (6″) tall with five large leaves. Based on what I remember, about one in six, or twelve, of the acorns seem to have managed to get this far. (June 2015)
