This scene was a learning opportunity, for me at least. This is a Common Fireweed (Chamerion augustifolium), a native plant easily found on the Rose Point Trail. What I discovered is that

This one is a real mystery, help would be appreciated in identifying these seed pods. The leaf to the left is clearly from a separate plant, probably a milkweed. The
