Shooting the rising sun or moon in Parry Sound is a challenge. While we have beautiful landscapes looking west to act as a frame, to the east there is mostly bush. Here is a photo of Friday night’s full moon rising, as shot from the Lookout on Tower Hill, rising mostly over McDougall. There is not much to frame it, except for the clouds above that are beginning to ‘eat it’. The moon rose above the clouds and popped out a half hour later. Yes, the moon really was this shade of orange-pink. (September 2016)
