Shattered ice, a symbol of a shattered winter? It’s mid-February, a week after the Big Freeze and things are ‘falling apart’ in terms of winter and ice coverage. Above freezing temperatures and rain are not conducive to skating, skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing or sledding. At least I have memories of ‘real winters’ of years past.
