Scenes from the Rose Point Trail, a not so late afternoon in December. The Rose Point Trail is quite different than the North Shore Rugged Trail for any number of reasons, but particularly the light and the shadows. While the North Shore Rugged Trail has wonderful light from a half hour before sunset to an hour after, the Rose Point Trail demands you be out there mid-afternoon. Even an hour before sunset, about 3:30 this time of year, the trail is dropping into deep shadows because of the surrounding hills and trees.
