I don’t know how you feel about snakes, but I consider them a necessary part of the ecosystem and I am always happy when they agree to stick around and pose for photos. This is a Northern Watersnake that was stretched across the Rose Point Trail a few days ago. I was paying enough attention to avoid running over it with my bike. It seemingly expressed its appreciation by sticking around until I could pull out my camera. Note the end of its forked tongue just sticking out. (August 2014)
